Tex the Dog needs a home
My name is Tex, so you can guess where I'm from! I had to relocate when Hurricane Harvey hit my town. I am a 4 year old male Chihuahua/Terrier, and I weigh around 15 pounds. I LOVE to play with my toys and to let my furry foster sibling chase me around the yard. I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and very handsome . . . as you can see. I can walk on a leash like a champ, but I need a little training on basic commands because I don't always listen to my foster mom. I am always happy and love to be next to my people or to fall asleep in their arms. My ideal forever family would be somewhat active and would take me on adventures. If you throw the ball for me or play tug-of-war, I will be the happiest boy on earth! I get along well with other dogs, I love to play, then take a nap when I'm tired, and prefer dogs who feel the same. I can be a bit timid with strangers, and would prefer a home with kids over 10 years old. I really don't like cats, so I should live in a feline-free home. My foster mom thinks I'm perfect, and I agree! If you're looking for a boy like me to join your family, I'm ready to give you all of my love! I promise I'll be good!
Tex has tested negative for heart worm, but needs to be retested in a month. He has lived in an area where heart worm is very common and as a precaution he will need to be on preventative medication for the rest of his life.
